Grateful donation from Birmingham NARPO
We would like to express our thanks for the kind donation of £250 made by The Birmingham Branch of NARPO (National Association of Retired Police Officers) following their Annual Memorial Service, on Saturday 25 October.
NARPO’s Memorial Service brings family members, friends, and colleagues together to celebrate the life of members who have passed away over the course of the last twelve months.
The hour-long service was held at St Mary’s Church, Bristol Road, in Selly Oak, Birmingham followed by refreshments in the church hall.
Ken Parker, Birmingham Branch Treasurer and Membership Secretary, said “The annual memorial service is an important date in our NARPO calendar. The full Birmingham Branch NARPO Committee were unanimous in their decision to donate the monies raised from this year’s Memorial Service to West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund.
“It’s the second year we have donated the collection to the police charity. We are aware of the good work that the Benevolent Fund carries out for serving officers, police staff as well as its retired members.
“On behalf of everyone involved with our Birmingham NARPO branch, I would like to thank West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund very much for all the support given to its members, year on year.”
Charity Chairman, John Williams added, “We are extremely grateful to the Birmingham Branch of NARPO for their recent donation. The memorial service is such an important event and shows just how special the wider policing family is.”
