St Michael’s Lodge

Physiotherapy and Well-Being Breaks at the multi-million pound treatment centre, Lancashire

We are currently working on a new St Michael’s Lodge web page. Please bear with us, while we carry out the necessary changes.  The new page will go live in early 2025. You will be able to learn more about the three distinct treatment areas available with your West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund membership;

We are also making some necessary changes to the application process and will be providing separate application forms for each treatment area, including new terms laid out by the treatment centre.

As a member of West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund you can apply for a convalescence or rehabilitation break at the state-of-the-art holistic treatment centre, St Michael’s Lodge.

Set in the picturesque Ribble Valley, Lancashire it’s the perfect place for our members to visit if they need time away to recover from injury or illness.

The centre offers a diverse programme, completely tailored to meet the individual needs of each guest.

A wide range of treatments are on offer including; physiotherapy, holistic therapy and hydrotherapy.

The Lodge has 30 bedrooms, with two of the rooms adapted for wheelchair users. All the rooms have TV, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, hairdryer and en-suite shower rooms.

There is a fully equipped gym for guests to improve their cardiovascular fitness and physical strength.

Relaxation is promoted with the beautiful orangery room overlooking open countryside, as well as, a comfortable TV lounge where internet access is available.

Outside guests can enjoy the landscaped garden, complete with patio area, water feature and hot tub.

 Arranging your stay

As long as you have been a Benevolent Fund member for at least 6 months you can apply to stay for a short break. Your stay will include your physiotherapy/treatment sessions, meals and accommodation.

PLEASE NOTE: Changes to St Micheal’s Lodge terms and conditions mean that members are not permitted to bring another adult with them unless they are registered as a fulltime carer. This is now included on the new application forms available via the links below.

We ask that your stay be arranged within three months of booking to ensure the maximum benefit of your convalescence.

The rooms provided are double or twin and you can take another adult. Your mid-week stay can be taken Monday-Thursday, returning on Friday. Serving officers and police staff can apply to the Force for special leave to attend St Michael’s. Please speak to your supervisor about how to claim.

As the Fund is paying for your convalescence break we do not pay towards your travel costs.
