Weekend Breaks in the Ribble Valley
St Michael’s Lodge now open for Bed & Breakfast weekend breaks throughout 2025.
Thanks to our unique partnership with the North West Benevolent, we can offer members discounted weekend breaks at St Michael’s Lodge.
Please note this is separate to the convalescence and rehabilitation benefit we offer our members.
During week days St Michael’s Lodge offers state-of-the-art treatment for members wishing to visit for a five-day residential wellbeing break or intensive physio.
On the weekends, it opens its doors to members who want to experience the friendliness, fine food and hospitality of the North and simply spend a relaxing weekend away.
Set in the beautiful Ribble Valley in Lancashire, St Michael’s offers comfortable surroundings, superb facilities, not to mention a hearty northern breakfast!
The two-night break, is Friday and Saturday night, staying in the thoughtfully decorated ensuite rooms that include TV and Mini Fridge.

*Prices are based on two adults sharing, (sorry no dogs or children under 18 years) and include bed, breakfast and full use of St Michael’s impressive swimming pool, sauna, gym, outside hot tub and games room.

Superb eateries nearby
After a hearty breakfast, a few lengths of the pool and perhaps a stroll through the picturesque Ribble Valley you will be keen to find somewhere good to eat. The pretty town of Whalley is a short distance away with its great pubs, bars and restaurants, including King Street Kitchen, award winning Breda Murphy, to possibly sample her infamous fish pie or the homely Aspinall Arms, with its deep arm chairs and open fires.
If you fancy something a little more up market, then the luxury Lancashire Hotel and Michelin Star Restaurant, Northcote may appeal. Lisa Goodwin-Allen is the executive chef and offers an outstanding dining experience. Lisa has just launched her new seasonal 5-course gourmet menu showcasing the very best in local northern produce.
Things to do
The historic market town of Clitheroe is 6.5 miles away and offers a plethora of specialist shops including the Award-winning Byrnes Wine Shop, famous for its amazing underground cellar packed with unusual vintages from around the world.
The Bowland Food Hall is a must for foodie lovers and is bursting with the best of Lancashire’s food and drink producers.
You may wish to meander around Clitheroe market, which has been running since the Norman conquest in the mid-12th century! It offers a wide range of goods at a bargain price.
There is also an Everyman cinema showing the very latest film releases.
Walks
As well as good food, small pretty villages and rolling countryside, the Ribble Valley offers an abundance of trails, scenic walks, historic buildings and cycle routes.
