Holiday home ballot now open
Happy New Year to our members!
With the Christmas and New Year festivities now over, your thoughts may be turning to the holiday season and booking a well-deserved break.
Being a member of the Benevolent Fund has lots of benefits including access to our exclusive holiday homes.
Members can book one of our two holiday homes in Dartmouth or Weymouth for a discounted rate.
Every year we hold a ballot where members can bid for a week at either property. Any remaining weeks (not allocated in both ballots) can be booked via our online calendar on our website, on a first come first serve basis!
Our holiday home ballot is now open for 2026/7 holiday bookings
As a member, you are eligible to bid for a week to stay at either of our holiday homes, Court Cottage (Dartmouth) or Peel’s Retreat (Weymouth)
How to bid for a week
Between 5th January and 9th February 2026 you can register your interest via our online ballot. Simply click on the calendar on your chosen holiday home and select the week you wish to stay. Prices for individual weeks can be found by hovering over a week on the calendar. Once you have registered your interest you will receive a confirmation email.
On 9th February registration will close and then the ballot will take place to decide which members have been successful with their bid.
If you are successful, you will be contacted by a member of our team to arrange a deposit payment and to fill in your booking details.
Once the ballot closes any remaining weeks can be booked by all members, regardless of whether they have stayed at our properties before. Bookings will then be taken on a first come first served basis.
Good Luck!
Our members love taking a break in our holiday homes.
Member Mitch Darby, who spent a week in Weymouth with his family last summer had this to say…
I would like to pass on my thanks and appreciation for the use of Peels Retreat in Weymouth. Me and the family were lucky enough to win the ballot for the first week of July. Living in Leicestershire this was the first week of the summer holidays. What a way to start.
We took the kids, Elliott (9) and Lily (7) as well as the pet dog (Monty). We were also joined by my in-laws for a couple of days.
The house was fantastic. Well equipped, comfortable, clean and what a location. I used to go to Weymouth yearly as a kid, and it was great to be able to share this experience with my kids.
Every evening, we would walk down to the Quay and go for a swim with the dog and take the paddle boards out. The kids loved crabbing, we must have caught 100’s (sorry crabs). We went Markel fishing, had some of the best fish and chips we have ever had, and went on a boat trip to Durdles Door.
We had taken the kids to Florida earlier in the year, and a summer holiday was always going to a be a push, but the fantastic offer and pricing meant we were lucky enough to get away again.
I can’t wait to be able to return one day.
Thanks for all you do.
