Happy retirement and thank you Sir!
We would like to wish the Chief Constable, Sir Dave Thompson QPM DL, a very happy retirement as he leaves West Midlands Police this week after six years in the post, over 12 years within the force and more than 30 years in policing.
Mr Thompson agreed to be our Patron back in 2019, when the Benevolent Fund became a registered charity. During those three years the Chief has been a fantastic ambassador for the Fund, not only strengthening our partnership with the organisation but appealing directly to officers and staff to sign up to our welfare benefits.
“We are immensely grateful to the Chief for his continued support over these past three years and pleased he wishes to remain a member of the Ben Fund when he retires,” expressed John Williams, Ben Fund Chairman.
“It’s good to see the Chief has signed to say he’s happy to continue with his subscription to the Fund for just £1 a month! I would like to remind other members who are approaching retirement to do the same and get in touch with us.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Ben Fund team we would like to wish you all the very best in your retirement, sir. Thanks again for your valuable contribution to our police charity in your role as Patron.”
