Benevolent Fund pays tribute to the late Brian Henry
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent death of Brian Henry who passed away, peacefully in his sleep, on Saturday 8 May, with his wife Joy at his side.
Most of Brian’s life was dedicated to the Police service. He was a valued, longstanding member of our operations committee, offering advice and support to its members. Unfortunately, in recent months Brian’s illness meant he had to take a step back from his involvement with the Fund but remained a close friend.
“Brian was a very loyal and committed member of our ops committee, who took his work with the Ben Fund very seriously. He was always keen to offer support to his serving and retired colleagues and he will be greatly missed by everyone here at the Benevolent Fund. We send our deepest condolences to Joy and his family”, explains Chairman, John Williams.
Brian was a long serving officer with West Midlands Police, retiring from the Force, in 1995. Following his retirement, he became an active member on the Dudley Branch Committee of the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO).
General Manager of the Ben Fund, Steve Newbury added: “Looking back over the years it is clear to see that Brian has dedicated most of his life to helping others.
“His work and commitment to the Fund has been really appreciated and he will be really missed by everyone here at the Benevolent Fund.
“Staff, operations committee members, trustees and friends of Brian would like to send their deepest condolences to his wife, Joy and the family.”
Details of Brian’s funeral will be shared in the coming days and inline with his wishes will be a private matter.
