Police charity gets bumper crop of new joiners
We’ve seen a wonderful boost to our membership this summer and have welcomed nearly 200 new members during the months of July and August.
The recent in-take was largely thanks to the new recruits signing up to join the Fund as well as student officers from the Police Now programme. Thanks to the Chief Constable, Dave Thompson and West Midlands Police training staff, we’re able to speak to officers about the importance of joining and explain how the Fund can step in and offer help when life takes an unexpected turn.
For as little as £2.00 per month serving officers and police staff can access a range of our membership benefits, including charitable grants, convalescence breaks, sickness vouchers and discounted holidays.
An increased in membership means we can help even more people during difficult times. With the new joiners this summer, our charity is now able to send an additional six officers or police staff on convalescence and rehabilitation breaks and can offer a further 80 sickness vouchers to officers or staff currently off work through injury or illness.
