Not meeting face-to-face but still offering a helping hand

Thanks to modern technology, our Operations Committee and Trustees have still been able to meet up (albeit virtually) and award grants to members who need our help.

Since becoming a charity our Operations Committee meet every month to consider applications from members, who are suffering from financial hardship or distress, and whether to offer a grant or loan to assist them.

Our team of Trustees – all serving or retired officers and police staff- then have the final say and are accountable for how our charities funds are spent.

This week we gave a grant to a serving police staff member who found themselves unable to pay for some unexpected family costs.

A further grant was given to a retired member whose medical conditions meant they were struggling to get about without the help of a walking aid. We helped to improve their quality of life and mobility by purchasing a motorised scooter.
