Coronavirus Update 24/03/20: Our holiday homes and St Michael’s Lodge
Holiday home closures
Following the announcement by Boris Johnson yesterday 23 March, we have decided to close both holiday properties until 1 July 2020. We will be closely monitoring the situation and following the government’s guidelines. We hope the closure will only be a temporary measure for the coming months and we will be in direct contact with members who have booked holidays this year.
As a result we have temporarily closed our online calendar. Members will receive a full refund for holidays booked or can choose to use their booking deposit to re-arrange an alternative date in the future.
We will be reviewing our booking system when the holiday homes re-open to give members who have missed out on their chosen week’s priority.
If you have any questions about your booking please email info@wmpben.co.uk
Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding.

FAQS
I’ve booked a holiday to stay at one of the Benevolent Fund properties can I still go?
We have had no confirmed outbreaks at either of our holiday properties (including the Hillfields Village estate in Dartmouth). We are currently open for business as usual and will provide an immediate update should the situation change.
I’m due to arrive at one of your properties in the next few weeks, can I get a refund?
We fully understand these are unprecedented times and under the uncontrollable circumstances we will offer our members a FULL refund should they wish to cancel.
Are you, the Benevolent Fund cancelling bookings?
No, we are not cancelling bookings as there are no reported cases of Coronavirus at either of our properties, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and following the advice of the UK government. If anything were to change with the property you have booked, we will be in contact with you directly.

Update on St Michael’s Lodge
The primary concern of the Ben Fund is the Health and Wellbeing of its members, visitors and staff. In light of the advice issued by Public Health England on 16 March 2020 to avoid non-essential contact, in consultation with the Trustees I have decided that, until further notice, the treatment offer will be substantially reduced or refined.
In practice this will mean the following:-
- St Michael’s Lodge will be closed as from 5pm 17 March 2020
- Physiotherapy treatment will suspended
- Holistic treatments will be suspended
- All wellbeing programmes are postponed and will be rearranged at the earliest opportunity
These unprecedented steps are temporary and proportionate to the current health emergency. The Ben Fund is monitoring the situation as it develops on a daily basis and look forward to resuming the full range of services at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, thank you for your continued support and please monitor our website for further updates.
