Coronavirus: Impact on West Midlands Benevolent Fund benefits and services
We hope you and your families all keeping safe and well during these uncertain times.
While our office remains temporarily closed, here’s some information and links to help you stay informed about your Ben Fund benefits and services.
How to contact us
The best and easiest way to contact us is via email info@wmpben.co.uk or through our contact us page on the website https://www.wmpben.co.uk/contact-us/
If you wish to speak to someone urgently please call 07775600309, leave a message and we will do our best to return your call as soon as possible.
Joining the Fund
You can still join West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund if you are not already a member. The link to join is here: https://www.wmpben.co.uk/how-to-join/application-form/
New and improved sickness vouchers
We have tried to improve the sickness vouchers we offer our members by increasing the level of choice you can spend your vouchers on.
If you are currently off work through injury or illness, or have had a recent period off work due to sickness (lasting more than 21 days) you can claim £30 in shopping vouchers.
We have now teamed up with Vex gift vouchers that are redeemable in over a 150 brands and 25,000 UK stores. To claim your e-voucher simply, complete the online application form here: https://www.wmpben.co.uk/our-benefits/sickness-vouchers/. We will then send you an email containing a unique link and code to claim your vouchers directly from Vex gift vouchers
If you are a supervisor or West Midlands Police Fed rep you can also apply for sickness vouchers for a police work colleague.
Temporary closure of St Michael’s Lodge
There is, understandably, widespread concern about the current COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
If you have booked a convalescence or rehabilitation break at St Michael’s Lodge please read the below update from the convalescence facility.
- St Michael’s Lodge will be closed as from 5pm 17 March 2020
- Physiotherapy treatment will suspended
- Holistic treatments will be suspended
- All wellbeing programmes are postponed and will be rearranged at the earliest opportunity
These unprecedented steps are temporary and proportionate to the current health emergency. The Ben Fund is monitoring the situation as it develops on a daily basis and look forward to resuming the full range of services at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, thank you for your continued support and please monitor our website for further updates.
Temporary suspension of our holiday home bookings
We have decided to close both holiday properties until 1 July 2020. We will be closely monitoring the situation and following the government’s guidelines. We hope the closure will only be a temporary measure for the coming months and we will be in direct contact with members who have booked holidays this year.
As a result we have temporarily closed our online calendar. We have personally been in touch with everyone who booked a holiday. Members will receive a full refund or can choose to use their booking deposit to re-arrange an alternative date in the future.
We will be reviewing our booking system when the holiday homes re-open to give members who have missed out on their chosen week’s priority.
If you have any questions about your booking please email info@wmpben.co.uk
Where can I receive more information about Coronavirus?
We would advise you to check the GOV.UK website for the most up to date information.
Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding.
We all wish you well
