Coffee Morning boosts coffers for police charity
Steve Newbury, our General Manager visited staff and residents at Millwald Place, Supported Living Scheme in Kings Norton, Birmingham yesterday.
The development provides round-the-clock care and support to adults with a visual impairment and Steve received a warm welcome from Michael Burbridge, one of the tenants, who raised £72.00 for the Ben Fund by running a coffee morning last year.
Michael is a big fan of the police emergency services and wanted to do something to generate income for the West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund.
“I know how hard you all work in keeping us safe and wanted to do something to show my support”, explains Michael.
“I sometimes hear about officers getting hurt and hope that the money we have raised will go towards helping officers and their families. We plan to run another coffee morning this year and hopefully we’ll raise even more money for the Benevolent Fund”.
We are really grateful to everyone at Millward Place for their kind donation and a big thank you to everyone who bought drinks and cakes and made donations.
