Christmas raffle brings cash boost the Benevolent Fund
WMP Benevolent Fund has received a donation of £300 from Wolverhampton NPU thanks to the fund raising efforts of serving officer, Karen Davies and colleague John Walklett.
Karen has raised hundreds of pounds in recent years to support good causes, including Millie Bea’s Walking Wish. Last month she chose to donate the proceeds of her festive hamper raffle to support the work of the Benevolent Fund.
“The raffle is becoming a bit of a tradition on Wolverhampton NPU and is always supported by colleagues so it’s never difficult selling tickets”, explains Karen.
“This time I wanted to raise the money for WMP Benevolent Fund as I know they do a lot behind the scenes to help officers and police staff.”
The draw took place in the OMU office at Wolverhampton NPU on 22 December with Ben Fund chairman, John Williams, Karen and Chief Inspector Beth Bridges, announcing the lucky winners
“We are really grateful to Karen for all her efforts; for promoting the raffle and selling so many tickets. Every penny donated to the Fund is appreciated by the serving officers, staff or retired officers who receive our help, said John.”
