Fund presents award for Police Staff of the Year

We’d like to share some of the photos taken at last week’s West Midlands Police Diamond Awards.

On Thursday 3 March the Force held its fourth annual Diamond Awards ceremony at The National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull and WMP Benevolent Fund were there supporting this year’s event.

The Awards evening was first launched back in 2012 to allow the general public, officers, staff, and their partners to recognise and reward West Midlands Police employees and members of the community who have made a significant contribution to helping make the region a safer place to live, work and visit.

Fund Chairman, John Williams, presented the Joyce Campbell Cup for Police Staff of the Year. This award recognises outstanding service by police staff, over and above what is required as part of their normal duties.

Three worthy nominees were up for the award, Detention Escort Officer Ian Jenkins, Jenny Birch for her work tackling Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Leigh Jones, Contract Procurement Manager.

Chairman John Williams said: “We were delighted to be supporting this year’s event and honoured to present the Joyce Campbell Cup for Police Staff of the Year. Many of our police staff deliver a high level of service often behind the scenes of front line policing so it’s great to acknowledge their fantastic work at the ceremony and show our appreciation.”
