Fund helps members with convalescence
When you need time away to convalesce – St Michael’s Lodge could be just what you’re looking for.
Debbie Hodson, a retired officer, talks about her recent stay and how the staff and facilities helped her back on the road to recovery.
“I recently stayed at St Michael Lodge in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.
The Lodge is a beautiful renovated former school house and retains many original features. There is adequate parking and the train station is literally a few hundred yards away if you don’t fancy the drive.
We were warmly greeted by unobtrusive yet attentive staff and were given a large room which had comfortable beds, an immaculate bathroom with a large walk in shower. Our room had a fridge, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and daily biscuits that magically appeared!
The Lodge offers lots of areas to relax. It has a library with a wide range of books, a comfortable lounging area, a conservatory, dining area and even an outside hot tub!
Breakfast was prepared to order each morning and was always a highlight.
The surrounding area is ideal for walks, expeditions – and shopping!
I did not take advantage of any physio while I was there as I was recovering from surgery, but physiotherapy is available if booked in advance.
