Evelyn, 58, and her wheelchair bound sister, Patricia, felt compelled to visit the station after hearing the tragic news of Merseyside officer PC Phillips who died on duty early this week.

The pair, from Delves area of Walsall, have had family members who served with Met Police and Forces in Yorkshire. They have a long association with Walsall Police having had contact with many officers over the years. They are fully aware of the risks officers take on a daily basis to protect the public and fight crime and wanted to donate some of their savings to support our work.

PC Lee Wiggins greeted the sisters and accepted their kind donation on behalf of the Fund.

Each year the Fund receives donations from members of the public to support the West Midlands Police family.
