Police staff member on road to recovery
Zubair Khan, a Crime Scene Coordinator at Ridgepoint House, in Ward End, Birmingham, is now back at work after a three-night stay at St Michael’s Lodge.
He says he feels “re-energised” after his visit and says being a member of the Benevolent Fund is “very good value for money at £2 a month”.
Zubair had been off work for several weeks because of a stomach condition but felt well enough to return after his “refreshing” experience at St Michael’s.
“I really appreciate the Fund’s support at the time of need as it’s a very difficult and lonely place when you are ill and feeling down. It’s been really therapeutic. This support has made a significant difference to my health and well being,” he said.
“I would recommend every member of West Midlands Police staff to give serious consideration to joining the Benevolent Fund because they respond to your needs sympathetically at a time of need.”
