How we help retired members
West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund has helped hundreds of retired West Midlands police officers, former police staff and their families over the last 10 years.
Nearly £1 million in grants and loans have been handed out over the last 10 years to help members who are suffering financial hardship or distress.
The Benevolent Fund has given nearly £20,000 in grants to retired members to help them improve their quality of life during the last year alone.
Many of these grants were for things like stair lifts and wet rooms for people having difficulty getting around at home, adaptations to cars for members who are disabled and we also helped to pay for convalescence at the Police Rehabilitation Centre in Goring as well as St Michael’s Lodge.
